it says:

Reason why I want to identify is cause I want to do a FIRMWARE upgrade.

looks a ot like one i saw on dealextreme, everyone seems to have one of these, but yet im not sure if anyone has had any luck figuring it out. your best bet is to take the cover off and see what chip runs it. you should be able to get some more help after everyone knows what kind of firmware to look for.
