Refunded, do I forgive? Need your advice
I recently bought an 8gb 4th gen ipod clone off of ebay. It worked pretty well at first. It even had a scroll wheel, which I really wasn't expecting. After using if for a while, I needed to charge up but I got no reaction from my pc after I hooked up the usb cord. First I thought it was the cord but all four cables were fine. Then I opened up the player and now I'm pretty sure the serial connector at the bottom is broken. I can attach the individual usb cables to the serial connector's target points and the player works ok. It charges but I'm not sure about file transfers.
While I was in there, I also got the name of the name of the memory chip and looked it up. From reading the chart, that was so helpfully located on this site (thanks :D), http://www.samsung.com/global/busine...Nand_Flash.pdf I found out the K9GAG08U0M samsung chip, has a 16g capacity and that somehow translates to 2gb (not quite sure how, I only started looking up hacked memory and such a few days ago). After this, I left negative feedback for the seller on ebay. So then I contacted the seller and told him/her about the broken connector, that I don't like being lied to with fake numbers, and that I want a complete refund. Now the seller says he'll/she'll give me a refund if I remove my negative comments. This is how is was written: "hi,friends, sorry to take an inconvenience for you. sorry that the player is not work well for you, please forgive us. now,you can keep it,and we refund the money back to you. then, please do us a faovr, help us remove the feedback, all right? you can only reply:'I AGREE TO REMOVE THE FEEDBACK',don't write any others, that is ok. please do us the favor, thanks. waiting for your good news. regards!" Is this normal? Should I remove my comments? What does that quoted phrase get me into? I feel like I'm walking into a trap somehow. Paypal doesn't show any recent activity and I don't think I've been refunded yet. I'm still a relatively new buyer and I'm not completely sure how paypal and ebay work, so any advice would be appreciated. Edit: I just noticed the title's wrong. I don't know if I was refunded because I cant remember how much was in my paypal account before I got the seller's message. Although paypal shows no recent transactions so maybe I wasn't refunded yet. |
If you're new to PayPal, you can also CALL THEM on the phone and talk to them. I've had to call PayPal once and they were very helpful (for another reason) and resolved the issue straight away on the phone. Before that, I had been waiting for about a week to get an answer. So since you're new, I think it's best to call them to clear things up and for them to answer any questions you may have.
If I were you, I would wait for the money to come back into your account firstly. From the email, I think what they are doing is blackmailing you to be honest. I wonder whether you mention this to PayPal and see what they say? If they are doing it for you, then no doubt they are doing it for others too. This is then giving eBay a bad name as well. Hopefully others can add to this as well and give you some opinions as well. |
never take the feedback of, this is how the con artists continue to thrive - leave the negative feedback, report and phone paypal and ebay and tell the seller to sod off (and i literally mean sod off - apologies) and that they have no rigfht to barter with feedback - tell them its all in the hands of paypal, ebay and that HK police have been notified (lie - but what the hell)
these scum need killing off, and they manage to evade by threatening with bullt tactics - they are scum |
Tell the seller to refund first.
