Sega Vision MP4 Player

Hi Guys,

i recently won the sega vision mp4 from a machine at the local odeon. Was excited til i opened and realised sega had stuck their branding on what can only be described as a cheap piece of ****. However, it has also stopped working recently and i wondered if anyone could let me know if there is a firmware that i can use on it? happy to try any hacked version.

As an aside, its a shame that sega have sunk so low since the heady days of sonic!

It would be that the manufacturer or the supplier just put a "Sega" sticker on it. I've seen these MP4 players with the "Sony" brand on it and I'm pretty sur Sony won't put their name on some of the players I've seen........

WIth regards to your player, when you say it has "stopped working" can you explain alittle more? If it not powering on? Does it show error messages when playing a song? Or does it sit and hang on the hourglass? ......... If you can explain alittle more, that would be great.

To be honest with you, trying to put another firmware on this player is exteremly risky. You only need to read the posts under "Dead Players" section to know what I mean.

thanks for the reply. its definitely sega the company has gone down hill in recent years.

This is the same one on ebay SEGA VISION MP3 / MP4 PLAYER, CAMERA AND MINI T.V. on eBay (end time 24-Aug-10 11:14:29 BST)

it just doesnt load properly. i was hoping there might be some generic software out there that may make it function a little better than the stock firmware. The camera doesnt work but i really only wanted it as a media player.

If anyone is thinking of buying one of these seriously do not. its the cheapest worst thought out device ever. selling for 80 quid only as they are not available in shops and have the sega branding.
