Default How to save my music?

Hey all

I googled but I didn't found something which really helped me... My problem is:

I have a mp3 player of 4 GB (2x2GB) from mpman.
I have this player now since a long time and I never had problems. But now, one of the devices shows me always the "disk error" error. The other 2GB-device is working fine.

If I put the player in the USB of the Computer, Windows (or whatever) finds one of these devices and for the "disk error" device it says me, I should formate it.

I know, I could formate it and it would work again. But I was travelling around spain the last few month and I got a lot of good music from ppl I met. This means, I don't have a backup of it.

Is there a possibility to get my datas back? Windows says that everything will be deleted, when I do the formatting.

But once I was at a public computer (I think it was a Unix system... I'm not sure anymore) and I had to formate both devices. I didn't had enough time, so I just did one, but the fact is, that the computer didn't say that it will delete everything, and nothing was deleted at the end. This device it the one which is working fine now.

Does Windows or Mac really delete everything? I don't want to loose the music :S

Hope to get a solution soon...
