how to get firmware from nano clone 9.5.54

Hi,
I have 3 identical mp4 players, all nano clones, One of which is dead (in ADFU mode with black screen)

Device manager identifies as Actions HS USB Flashdisk

Easychips identified as ATJ211x, ic version 0x0007, brom 3.0.80, fw ver 9.5.54

From the memu of a working unit the Firmware version is:
2008/09/05
9.5.54
2008/03/13
AK2025_b0c0

Am trying to extract the firmware from a working unit
s1res in v9 mode gets semaphore timeout
s1res in adfu mode gets invalid file
s1clone gets semaphore timeout

Can anyone help with a program to extract the firmware successfully?
I will upload the firmware for other users once extracted.

ta
Anne

If you ever managed to extract the firmware please upload it... because I have nano clone too that goes white screen.
BTW.. have you tried "S1fwx - Firmware extractor V26"?

I have the 9.5.60 firmware, which s1fwx apparently could extract even though its not supposed to work with 9.x players. However, s1res also says 9.5.60 is incompatible with a 9.5.54 player if you try to install it.

BTW - I had a white screen on my unit, but USB flash disk access was working, and also I could get the unit to play music even with the white screen (though clicking the buttons blindly to get it into play mode wasn't easy!). If that's the circumstance your facing, try the battery disconnect trick that got my screen functioning again without a firmware update. thanks cparke for the reply.... I'll try that someday. Currently, my mp4 is at the hands of my friend. I hope he can fix it :)
