Hacked iPod Nano clone problem.
Hi folks,
Recently i bought (knowingly) some of those iPod knockoffs hoping that i will be able to fix any kind of memory hack that might occur. The player itself claims to have 8Gb installed but using the linux equivalent of H2Test it turns out that 1 is only 4Gb and the others are 2Gb. So far so good. Ive expected that. I thought it would be easy to just follow the guides posted here to remove the memory hack. Either chkflsh or mp3player tools but none of them work for me. The Disktool program that is included in mp3player tools doesnt recognize the drive and simply quits and chkflsh, when doing the low level format, doesnt seem to be doing anything at all. In chkflsh i see 4 partitions that i cannot delete and when i create a new one it simply gets ignored. The chipset of the players are all QS_AK2027. Firmware version 9.5.60 Here is an image of one. http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/.../349788424.jpg I cant access the firmware either. s1fwx and friends extracts something but it isnt usable in any of the flash software applications. s1res or s1clone wont even get that far. I suppose it is one of those Series 9 players that defeat the firmware proggies still. Does anyone have a extracted firmware set for a 4g and 2g player by chance ? If i could flash it with the proper drive geometry i would be happy already. Regards Nicolas |
