questions adout finding firmware and fixing my player

ok. i've been reading the faqs over the last week or so, but i still want to ask before i do anything so as to not brick my player.

its stuck on the loading screen which i believe means my firmware is corrupt. so basically i need to find my firmware and uploaded it? or is their a way to extract the corrupt firmware and fix it? where can i find my firmware?
