MP4 player turns off after 2 seconds, other times, 30 seconds

Hi,

I have a MP4 player which is an iPod clone brought off a Chinese seller at a computer fair and it turns off after a few seconds off music some time it can be 2 seconds other 30 seconds is there anything to sort this or Have I brought a Dud player

Can you post more details about your player? Look for the Firmware Info/Ver on your player's [Setup] menu and post details here. That will tell us what type of chipset it has.

If yours is an Actions chipset, you can try following this Knowledge Base Article here: How to: Set sleep and power off settings

Most likely your player has a sort of 'sleep' mode enabled which means it go into a sleep more if not used. It does sound weird that it would after 2 seconds though.

hi the firmware is 9.5.65 QS_AK2025 and I have tried changing the sleep/power off settings and its whilst it is playing music from anywhere between 1 second and 30 seconds it will just restart itself
