Conversion fail to AMV for Eclipse 180

Hi, all. New member here. I have a Machspeed Eclipse 180 (4GB) mini MP3 player with AMV playback capability. It did not come with native software to use. Apparently, it is an ACTION chipset player with a 160×128 pixels color display. It plays the AMVs that came preloaded and plays an AMV file I downloaded from mympx.org so the player works. I'm trying to use the MP3 Player Utilities 4.18 to convert some example files to AMV format. I downloaded and installed the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack as instructed (taking mostly the defaults but added the DirectShow MPEG-2 video decoding filters) and then installed the utilities. As an example file to convert, I selected an MPG file that was preloaded on my PC (Windows 7 Toshiba laptop) called Clip_1080_5sec_MPEG2_HD_15mbps.mpg, a 5 sec video clip. This file not only plays on Windows media player but also plays in the preview window of the AMV converter.

I try to convert the file with the following settings (I've tried others but this would be best) 160 x 120, "normal" video conversion with "high" image quality. No matter what I try to do, I get 0 tasks success and 1 task fail. It won't convert it. The fact that it plays in its preview window seems to indicate that it has the codecs it needs. Anyone have any suggestions? What might I be doing wrong? What can I do to fix it? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
