Hey,

Thanks for the quick response. You assume correctly; I did not make a backup of the firmware. Yes it can play both .amv and .mtv, I downloaded the MP3 Player utilities from the download section and tried both formats. The player also had a sample .amv-file preinstalled when I got it and that played without problems before the "upgrade".

Hi Kris,

Try this firmware instead then: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...ile&file_id=67

It's from Scrub, who has modified it so it can play both .AMV and .MTV files.

Let me know if that works or not.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi,
I'm having kinda same problem as Kris, but I did nothing to me MP4. It has a sample .amv in it that works perfectly, but I downloaded 2 samples from the site and they don't work. They start playing, but in seconds it stops and says "Format Error". Every movie that i try to convert into amv have the same problem. The model is not the VL-547, but is quite similar, but it has SONY written on it.
Do you have any ideia of what could be?
Thanks,

Raphael

Hi Raphael,

Can your player play everything else ok? Like it can play mp3 songs, photos and FM radio ok?

What .AMV files did you download from the site?

It sounds like you might have a problem with the memory in the player? But if it can play everything else fine, then it might not be the case.

Let me know if it can play everything else fine?
Can you try checking the available SPACE left on your player? Try deleting some files and see if that helps too.

Hi Bihn,

Thanks by the quick response.
I can play MP3 files perfectly. Pictures have the same problem as the amv videos. There was a picture in it that I erased accidentally, but it could be played before. This MP4 player doesn't have FM Option, but it has a E-Docs option, that reads .txt files, and this option works.
I downloaded Madonna's and Black Eyed Peas' videos. Both had that problem that i described.
The player has 2Gb of memory, and i just put 20 songs in it to test, it has 94% free.

Thanks,

Raphael.

Hi Raphael,

Can you upload the sample AMV that was originally on your player please?

What screen size player do you have?

Can I get you to move everything off your player (so it doesn't have any files in there) and just try copying over the two sample .AMV files you downloaded from our site and see if that works?

Thanks for your help. =]
I finally got it working. I don't know exactly what the problem was, but i tried differents of combination of configurations and one of them worked.
It is this way now:

Video

128x128
High
High
mode0

Misc

Overwrite file NOT CHECKED
Try other coded CHECKED

It's a 1.5 display. The player is a Nano iPod like.
All my videos gnow work on it, but the two samples that i got here still don't.
I dried to do what you said, of getting everything out of it, but still didn't work, maybe my player requires a specific configuration.
I can upload the video and also a picture of the MPX Player if you still want it.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Raphael,

Good on you for trying and got it working!
I think the "use alternate codec" might make a difference as maybe the codec used to convert your video file not be the best one and producing no sound? Or maybe it was the "mode0"? I will make a note of it.

Can you please put [solved] in front of your original post message please? This is so that everyone knows it's solved.

Try playing MTV files. do they work? or try amv files with different screen sizes, large, small etc...
or better still, try converting some movies into amv using the amv converter urself and then try... see what happens
