Default Ghosting on screen (1.5" nano clone)

Hi,

I've only had my player for a few days, was a bit disappointed that it played .amv and not .mp4 video (mp4 player? must be audio mp4 only).

I've been able to get around the skipping problem with setting the frame rate higher (not high enough for my liking but nothing I can do about that yet). But all movement has ghosting, I think that maybe the OLCD screen doesn't refresh fast enough?

I don't know. but can anyone help me out with this? can I do something to the firmware to fix this?

Hi Relztem,

Trying to find out whether the problem is with the .AMV file or with your player itself.

Can you try the following please?

1. Download one of our samples from our site and play it on your player. What does that look like?

2. Upload one of your .AMV files that has the 'ghostly movement' to our site and let others have a look at it.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure it's the player. I have downloaded both the soccer skills and the black eyed peas video from the site and the ghosting is on both of them as well as my files.

How do I upload files to the site?

Hi Relztem,

You can upload just by going into the "download" section on the left hand side, select the appropriate category and there should be a "uploads by members" section.

When you say "ghostly", can you describe that alittle more please......?

Hi,

ummm... how do I explain ghostly better?

The movements are blurred. It's like the last frame fades away too slowly for the next frame. Does that make sense?

The files are fine when I watch them on the AMV player on my PC.

Relztem,

Sounds like a fault with your player.
I know others haven't mentioned this before. The samples you downloaded have been tested on a number of players without any ghostly effects.

I would suggest you take it back to the person you bought it off and get it fixed and replaced if still under warranty.

I am in the exact same boat. I bought a black nano clone on ebay from a company. It works fine, but the 'ghosting' effect applies (mostly with video, but just about any animation really). I contacted the seller, but havent heard back about it. Has anyone figured anything out on it yet?

Darkpower, Darkpower is right these players are not that highly powered and the screen refresh rate is proberly not to great.

You can also improve the quality of your video by pre-processing with VirtualDub or PocketDivxEncoder.
You will find both apps in the Downloads\Tools section.
There are a couple of posts on how to set them up HERE and HERE

I find this to be quite true. Ive been playing with virtual dubs and the pocket encoder quite a bit today and have found that the ghosting effect is virtualy eliminated. You can tell a bit of quality difference in the picture, but this sacrifice is small. And as you already mentioned, what can we expect? For such a tiny machine to play a full length dvd movie, it sure is impressive.

So Relztem and any other people who are experiencing this ghosting, i suggest getting some knowledge on virtual dubs and the pocket encoder from this site and encode those videos.

thanks for the help guys
