[solved] amv converter not converting
Hi,
tried a amv file from here, transferred it to mp4 player, and works fine. My problem is trying to get the amv convert tool to work, this is what i have done/installed: windows media player 10 directx 9 tried mp3utilities 3.57 with no joy now have 3.68 installed k-lite codec pack I have read the guide elsewhere on this forum, try another codec ticked etc,but all i get when it starts to convert is error in the amv gui,and the app shuts itself down. i have tried to convert .avis(xvid),mpeg files and vobs...the best i managed was to play the vob file, but not convert it. any help would be greatly appreciated pls. |
Re: Same problem here!
Have all the necessary codecs & software installed but the AMV Converter will not work on any type of file I try and convert. All it shows up is 'error' against the file name when it attempts conversion.
I'd appreciate any help. June |
Guest,
Try this: 1. Uninstall the AMV Converter. 2. Create a new user account on your computer with full admin rights. 3. Then install it under the NEW user which you have just created. Make sure you put in the tick for "allow for everyone". 4. Try converting now and tell me if that works or not. |
Re: amv converter not converting
admin:
lol,yes works fine now for the 1 .avi i tried...thankyou for the advice, but you have to admit, its a bit of a nuiscance having to log in to another user acc every time i want to convert something. Anything in the pipeline for an update or something to fix this problem please? |
Guest,
Once you install it under the other logon and put the tick for "allow for everyone" option, you should then be able to log in as your normal logon and use the convert tool as you made it available to anyone/logon on your computer. Try that. Unfort, the problem doesn't happen on all computers. Just on some of them. |
