relaxxx,

Thanks for that.
For the 1.5” amv you can edit the transform.ini file to 90*
by making this change:

BMPADJUST=4 - Rotate 90 degrees clockwise
BMPADJUST=5 - Rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise

or you can use:
http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=972 to optimize and rotate before encoding to amv.
Download the sld codec pack( in downloads section) on your win98 machine then try again. Keep in mind that SMV is a relatively new format/codec and may not be optimized legacy platforms (98,98se,ME).

I agree, there is no framerate adjustment in smvtool but I would peg it at appx. 12 fps. You can select 16fps w/ amvtool.

The SLD pack says it’s for XP and gets errors installing on my Win98.

Iridium

I have the Sigmatel Firmware Extractor. Haven't used it yet though. Trying to find Sunplus Firmware extractor now......

Good luck with the Sigmatel as I haven't played around with that yet....

I will upload the extractor tool shortly.

Thanks for posting your Pros/Cons as well.

The plus side i see with Actions boards is that it's very common and there are tools like s1fwx and s1res which lets you modify the firmware on it. I don't know about the Sigmatel ones though.

@ relaxxx,

Google and download :
Media Player Classic
This player has most codecs built in. Try again once you install it. I have never gone back to Windows Media Player.

@ Binh,
I look forward to downloading the Sigmatel Firmware Extractor. I won't have much time to play w/ it until next week tho. I'll let you know if there are any probs w/ it.

Hi Iriduim,

Your Sigmatel player has a Main menu like the model of the link below?
