Default [solved] DISK FULL

Hi all
Earlier I have posted that the "DISK FULL" problem was solved, but sorry guys it didn't
By entering the line DISKFULL=1600000000 in the .ini file it converted upto 155MB of the movie and said DISK FULL.
I tried increasing the value to 480000000 but this time it converted only 38MB.
My movie file is 450MB
Can anyone help me out
regards
prasanna

prasanna,

If these are the figures you used,

"By entering the line DISKFULL=1600000000 in the .ini file it converted upto 155MB of the movie and said DISK FULL.
I tried increasing the value to 480000000 but this time it converted only 38MB."

you actually decreased the setting by 1120000000.

prasanna, The only time that I had a problem with sound being out of sync was when I made changes to the framerate when converting to AVI.

At the bottom of PocketDivxEncoder there is a section called "post encoding misc options" that has a button for correcting Audio/Video Synchronization I have not used it but you could give it a try.

prasanna, I have yet to find a sure way to fix the DISKFULL problem, it happens to me sometimes. In the past I have been able to fix it temporarily a few different ways.

If you have more than one drive or partition on your PC try saving the output file to a different partition than the original.

Sometimes I have found rebooting the PC can help.

Uninstalling and then Re-Installing the video converter has also fixed it sometimes.

It is curious that you have increased the DISKFULL setting and this has decreased the amount of video you are able to convert. Try to decrease the setting to say 1600000 and see what happens.

Hi tadad1,I have tried all the options like saving the file in different drive, changing the numbers 1600000000 to many values, uninstalling and reinstalling converter 4.00 and 3.68, even I created a seperate login with full rights and in between all these rebooting my PC n number of times....but nothing worked man.
The strange thing is everytime it is converting different MB of the file but not more than 45MB ...once it converted around 155MB with the setting 1600000000.
I am really furstrated man... seems like I have wasted my money.
Is there any solution for this..anyone help me out.

Thanks
Prasanna

prasanna, This is just a technical issue as not everyone has the problem, there will be a solution. Is it just with one particular file or with any file you try and convert?
What settings are you using?
How much memory does you PC have?

Hi tadad1
Ok this is the history
As soon as bought this player I converted one AVI file around 700MB it was perfectly converted to a around 300MB AMV file. After that I didnt try converting anything. For the last few days after joining this forum I got this DVD shrink tool so I used it to copy a DVD (VOB) file onto my system then I encoded it with PocketDivxencoder (got from here only).I got a AVI file of the whole movie around 450MB with 128x128 resolution.
This avi file I am trying to convert using amv converter 4.00
the settings
128x128
High
Mode2

I even tried with 3.68 converter tool no result.

I am using a Laptop with a hard drive of 40GB and RAM 512MB
Windows 2000

I also tried with other files it is not converting beyond 40MB.

Hope this give some Info.

Prasanna

prasanna, Sorry more questions.

Have you installed a codec pack, it may not be the problem but it could help?

What size is your swap file set at?

You might also try closing any non critical apps that may be running to free up resources and remove any possible conflicts.
