MrPitch, try installing the K-Lite Mega Codec pack a google search will find it for you. it should contain all the files you need to convert.

MrPitch

I suggest upgrading to Windows XP.
Unfort a lot of the tools, drivers and codec packs don't support Win98 anymore. Windows is also withdrawing it's support for Windows 98 very soon as well.

Is there any chance of you upgrading to Windows 2000 or Win XP?

Tools like s1fws and s1res (used for firmware extracting, updating) as well as the AMV Convert Tool all WON'T work on Windows 98 unfortunately. I can't even suggest an emulator or virtual machine as I don't even know of they support Windows 98 as well.
