I'm assuming from title of your post that your PSP files are in mpeg-4format or similar ?

You will probably need to convert to avi first - you can use pocketdivxencoder for this. Then use amv converter to convert this "new" file - and ensure you have " try other codecs" ticked in settings - should work ok.

cheers...where do i get that program from??

for info these movies are converted so that they appears as m4v47134.mp4 or m4v47134.thm when opened in the iput file box....also also i only get these to load into the input file box when search under 'all afiles' if that makes sence. when i try and convert it errors straight away

There is a downloads section on left hand side - you'll find pocketdivxencoder in there to download for free. I'm pretty sure you should be able to convert using this first, or just ensuring you have " try other codecs" enables in the amv convert program. There are instructions on how to use this in the knowledge base ( also see left hand side ).

You may also need to download SLD codec pack ( in case you have missing ones either ausio or video on your system) - its all a bit trial and error I'm afraid, but you will suss it all out, what works and what doesnt soon enough - this site really helped me out !

Cheers

No, it should convert much faster than that. Think it defaults to avi file when I use it - then I convert the avi to AMV. The progress bar sometimes stays at 0% until it finishes converting - and then suddenly comes up with a completed message. Play around with it a bit and see what it does. There is a tpoic on the forums explaining how to use pocketdivxencoder, so do a search on that if you have problems. My files were only about 40MB originally, so the conversion process was always quick.

Hope you get it sorted ok

Cheers

Si

TJ, What version of AMV converter have you installed. You should find it in Start Menu> All Programs> MP3 Player Utilities. Also what screen size is your player.
