Shakira Video from Samples
 

Admin, I downloaded the Shakira video you posted from the samples and for the degree of motion it has, it plays better than anything else ive tried on my nano. Can you tell me the EXACT programs and settings you used to get your video to play this well?

I've tried many different programs with settings i pulled directly from other peoples posts, but nothing has worked quite as well.

Teach me oh great one. :)

The setting I used is what has been highlighted in the Knowledge Base - How to: Convert to .AMV using the MP3 Player Utilities 3.68 from here.

Have you tried that yet?
Basically, I used HIGH for both "Frames per second" and "image quality". Try that and see what happens.

Also, before doing the convert, I used VirtualDub to resize it to the correct video size (ie: 128 x 96) firstly before converting it using the AMV Convert Tool.

I used that method a long time ago when i first started. I then added the Virtual Dub process from the forums and even the Pocket Divx program.

*shrugs* i wonder if its just the lighting for the Shakira video itself then. I put a lot of stand up acts on my nano and I bet the brightness of the stage lights tends to make the image 'trail' as it plays a bit. Oh well, thanks for the input though.

Try downloading a few other sample .amv in the same category as the Shakira video and see how they player on your player?

i can't insatll mp3 utilities3.68 so i installed utilities4.00....it works but i can't play any of the vidos on my player(its ipod1.5' clone 1gb)shows format error...i can adjust the video size only to 128x128 and 160x120. i cannot adjust frames per sec(high),image quality(high) and image focus(mode2)....i even downloaded the sample video...all showed format error....

now its making sense....

i downloaded the magic fridge bud light commercial you uploaded admin and the trailing effect is back. the backfround for this commercial is very bright on my player so it really is the lighting of the video itself thats effecting its play.

Now I know....and knowing is half the battle.
