full screen problems with 1.8

hello.

i have a problem viewing movies in full screen with my 1.8 player

i'm using virtualdub to resize the movie and rotate it but when i'm converting the video with the amv tool even when i'm using the 160*120
it masses up the video size.

what do i do?

thanks!!!

tadad1 17th Jul 2006 6:17 pm

bkcproject, Try the new version of MP3 Player Utilities 4.03 as it now has a rotation setting. You can find it in the Download>Tools section.

bkcproject 18th Jul 2006 1:02 pm

tadad1
thanks!

the video does rotate.

but now i have a new problem.
the player stops the video and shows an error massage after a few seconds every time i try to play the video.

(i've tried both high and middle in the settings)

do you know whats wrong?

tadad1 18th Jul 2006 3:24 pm

bkcproject, If you are using version 4.0 try 3.57, I have posted the settings here http://www.mympxplayer.com/viewtopic.php?t=449

BKCPROJECT 18th Jul 2006 3:55 pm

BUT THE 3.57 CANT ROTATE THE VIDEO
CAN IT?

tadad1 18th Jul 2006 5:00 pm

BKCPROJECT,
No 3.57 does not have the rotation option.
If your player does not automatically rotate the video for full screen viewing then you may have some problems trying to get full screen. This is why.
Version 3.57 you can not rotate the video.
Version 4.0 you can rotate the video but you can not adjust the frame rate.
Version 4.03 you can rotate the video and adjust the frame rate but I have not been able to get it to convert at 160x120. Even though it is set to this it converts at 174x128 which will not play.

tadad1

first of all thanks for youre help!

and second.

4.03 converts and flips the video properly the problem is tjat i keep getting a format error everytime i try to play the video.

is there a way to solve this?

tadad1 19th Jul 2006 4:02 am

BKCPROJECT, If you are running a 1.8 LCD 4.03 is never going to do it as it will not convert to 160x120 even though it has a setting for it. If you play a converted file on your PC with AMV Player, while it is running right click on the picture and select properties you will see it is actually 176x128 which is just going to keep crashing your player.

BKCPROJECT 19th Jul 2006 4:06 am

is there a way to update the firmware in my player
so it would automaticly rotate?

admin 19th Jul 2006 4:08 am

Try changing the video rate to MEDIUM instead of HIGH as the HIGH setting might be too much for your player to handle and hence crashes....

Try that and let me know what the result is...

tadad1 19th Jul 2006 4:26 am

BKCPROJECT, What sort of player do you have and what version is the firmware?

19th Jul 2006 4:37 am

can you tell me how to check?

tadad1 19th Jul 2006 4:42 am

BKCPROJECT, If you look in your players settings menu there is an entry for firmware version.

bkcproject 19th Jul 2006 4:43 am

admin

i tried medium and im still getting a format error

bkcproject 19th Jul 2006 4:45 am

it says:

acts16d_13

and

ws- 3.2.13

tadad1 19th Jul 2006 5:05 am

bkcproject, Sorry man, I do not think you will find a 3.2.13 with auto rotate. I have heard it done a couple of times with 3.5.35 to 3.5.37. But 3.2.13 to 3.5.37 is a big jump and I think you would surely kill your player trying. I suggest you start a new post asking if anyone has a version 3.2.13 or 3.2.16 for a 1.8 LCD that has auto rotate for full screen viewing, you may get a responce.

bkcproject 19th Jul 2006 5:50 am

i cant change the version by updating the firmware?

tadad1 19th Jul 2006 5:56 am

bkcproject, I have never had a 3.2.13 version player so I can not say 100%. But I think it would be risky.

bkcproject 19th Jul 2006 6:01 am

is it at all possible to change versions?

bkcproject 19th Jul 2006 6:16 am

well,

tadad1 thanks a lot!!!

youve really helped me!

i had no idea why the full screen doesnt work.

hanks again!!!

tadad1 19th Jul 2006 6:30 am

bkcproject, You are welcome man, I am sorry we could not fix it for you. In your post for a 3.2.13 you should also put 3.2.16 as that version may be ok with your player. Remember to backup your firmware before trying to upgrade though, if anything goes wrong you will need it.

Good Luck, if I find anything I will let you know.

bkcproject 19th Jul 2006 3:36 pm

tadad1,

i've encountered somthing pretty strange.

when i check my f/w version through the player it says 3.2.12 but when im trying to extract firmware the s1fwx says 3.5.35

any clue what is the real version?

tadad1 19th Jul 2006 7:04 pm

bkcproject, Can you upload your firmware to Rapidshare and leave me a link so I can look at it.
Thanks

tadad1 19th Jul 2006 9:13 pm

bkcproject,
"bliushift" just posted a message that may interest you here.

haa... i wish my player would do the same.

but other than that we have the same problem

here is the link to the f\w
http://rapidshare.de/files/26384364/safe_copy.bin.html

tadad1 thanks a lloooottt!!!

bkc-project 20th Jul 2006 3:02 am

forgot to write my nick...

tadad1 20th Jul 2006 3:12 am

bkcproject, I think the firmware has been upgraded from 3.2.13 to 3.5.35 it appears to have images and file names from both versions. I have tried it on 2 of my 1.8 players and it just leaves a black screen. What is interesting with "bliushift" firmware is that it appears as 3.2.13 on the player but 3.5.37 with s1fwx same as yours so his may be a 3.5.37 version of your 3.5.35 but it is hard to say 100%. He has uploaded his to the site so when admin clears it I will check it against yours, it may be an upgrade for you.

bkc-project 20th Jul 2006 3:18 am

and can i upgrade my player eith a 3.3.35 or 3.5.37 that supports auto rotate?

tadad1 20th Jul 2006 6:04 am

bkc-project, I have looked at bliushifts firmware and it is very different from yours. I have doubts that it would be compatible with your player. It did not work on my 2 test players.
Trying to upgrade your player is always risky, If the firmware is not right you could end up with a blank screen as I did but could recover quite easily with your backup dump or you could be left with a dead player.

bkc-project 20th Jul 2006 6:16 am

i have a backup

but how can i find a f/w that is suitable for my player?

tadad1 20th Jul 2006 6:39 am

bkc-project, You would need to know your players mainboard serial number, your chipset type, your LCD type, then find a firmware that came from a player with the same specifications and even then it may not be 100%. There are so many different players made with different components and all their firmware is slightly different. That is why upgrading your firmware is so risky.

bkc-project 20th Jul 2006 7:50 am

thanks for explaining it to me.

i had no idea why it doesnt work.

ill try and find a suitable one

thanks tadad1!

great to have someone like you around!

tadad1 20th Jul 2006 7:54 am

bkc-project, No worries man, if I find a solution I will let you know. :)
