Default AMV converting problems. Screen size and frame rate

When i load the movies onto my converter(3.68) to my 1.5" nano clone, i have a problem with format Errors. First my converter will only allow me to make the screen size a 128:96. It does not even give me the option of a 128:128. The biggest problem is when i load the movie on my player and select the setting 128:96 with a high frame rate, i get a format error on 9 out of 10 videos. The only way i can avoid getting an error is if i load it using a 128:96 with a medium frame rate. Would a different converter help me here, or is it all my player is capable of recieving.

Thanks

dansvob, Try 3.57 it should let you use 128x128. Regarding Format Errors Some players can not cope with high frame rates and crash others do not seem to have the problem. Some people have fixed the problem by changing firmware a risky business but if you are willing to take the risk of killing your player. I think it is a firmware issue as most of these players seem to have the atj2085 chipset so they should all have the same processing power the only difference with most is the LCD type and firmware. I also notice that players with TFT screens are able to play at higher frame rates.

Tadad1,
Thanks for your response. I will try the 3.57. I can handle the frame rate. As long as i can squeeze a little more size out of my 1.5 screen i will be happy.

Thanks again. This site is worth its weight in gold.

dansvob, You may also find it helpful to pre-process your video before conversion to crop and resize it if you are going to use 128x128, converting from a rectangular 4x3 aspect ratio to a square 4x4 ratio can come out a bit wierd if you dont do some resizing first.

What is the format of the original video file you are trying to convert?

Please check to make sure you have the necessary Codec packs installed. If you don't, you can download and install them from our website.

Best to search the forum about this problem as it has been asked before.

If you get "format errors" while playing, trying using the AMV Convert Tool 3.68 instead. Also try LOWERING the quality to "medium" instead as your player might not be able to handle this.
