talladega, It is strange if you are using XP with SP2 and have all the right codecs installed you should not be having these problems. the only other thing I can suggest is finding an app that will convert your .rmv and .mov files to .avi.

.rm files are working now after I installed a decoder pack.

.mov files play but with no sound.
