optimize function in AMV converter: how it works?

im using AMV converter 4.03, i modify the .ini file to be able to have converted videos to 128x128 size, sometimes my player still give me format error as a message but sometimes works.
is there any relation to the OPTIMIZE function?
what that function is used for? wich are the differences between mode0 mode1, 2 and so on?
i appreciate any help.

None, Try lowering the frame rate to medium.
