Syn,
Does this happen with all your conversions or just some?
Does your converted file play on your PC ok?
What format is the original format?
Do you have a codec pack installed?

_Syn 8th Oct 2006 2:50 pm

this happens to all of my conversions. I dont know if it successfully plays on my PC cause I dont test it out and I didnt install my new sound card yet and the original format is usually WMV or MPG. And no i dont have codec pack installed.

tadad1, It is most likely a codec problem then. Download and install the K-Lite Codec pack HERE. It contains practically every codec you will need for decoding and encoding most audi and video formats.
Once you have installed it reboot and then try another conversion. On the settings window in the AMV converter be sure to select the Try Other Codec option at the bottom of the window.

what do I do after I install it? I need an answer quick please..

tadad1 10th Oct 2006 11:01 pm

_Syn,
Once you have installed the codec pack try converting another video.

thanks tadad1 im going to try that now.. see if it works.

_Syn 11th Oct 2006 8:53 pm

no it still doesnt work.. I NEED HELP! ahh.. sorry.

tadad1 11th Oct 2006 9:00 pm

_Syn, Start a conversion and let it run for 10 seconds or so then stop it. Upload the resulting short AMV to www.sendspace.com and leave me a link so that I can check it out.

Thnaks tadad1. 3.68 Works. Does 4.0 or any other verison have Try Other Codec Option?

tadad1 11th Oct 2006 9:59 pm

_Syn,
Great news glad you have got sound now :) . They all have the try other codec option, but if your screen is 1.5 I would recommend you stick with 3.68.
If your screen is 1.8 I recommened 3.57 setup as posted HERE because at least you can adjust the frame rate if you need to, something you can not do in version 4.0 which is also a little buggy.

You can download 3.57 if you need it HERE

_Syn 11th Oct 2006 10:13 pm

so 4.0 has Try Other Codec Option?

admin 12th Oct 2006 12:06 am

_Syn

Yes it does.
However, 3.68 is more stable than the other versions though. If 3.68 is working fine for you, then I would say stay with it for the time being.

4.03 is better than 4.0 if you want to try the upgraded version.

I know you guys want to lock this topic or something but 4.03 doesnt have Try Other Codec.. I dled it already and it didnt.
