AMV format error
(Solved)
Hi Please, please help. I have tried in vain to get AMV files playing on my sons player. I am using version 3.68. The files convert OK however when I upload them to the player and try to play them it always comes up format error. The screen size is 1.5". The firmware V:3.5.37. I have tried changing the settings as in your demo. Cheers |
Re: AMV format error
dsmith, Lowering the frame rate to medium on your 128x128 AMV conversions will generally fix format error problems.
If your player came with a sample video copy it to your PC and open it with the AMV Player, while it is running right click on the picture and select properties. This should show you the settings used in the sample. High= 12fps, Medium = 10fps and Low =8fps. If you are still having problems then you may need to pre-process your video and lower the frame rate to the same rate you are using on your amv conversions. If they are .avi files you can do that with VirtualDub HERE by loading the video, on the menu bar select Video>Frame rate and then set as shown to 12,10 or 8fps. Then select File>Save as avi and then try your AMV conversion at the same frame rate. http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/2391/fpsxa7.jpg |
Thanx. My son unfortuntely deleted the sample that came with the player. I will try virtual dub and let you know how I get on.

Re: AMV format error
Hi
I tried everything you suggested using virtual dub and lowering the settings. Still no joy. format error seems to be imprinted in my head at the moment. Any other suggestions. Dsmith :? |
dsmith, You might be able to overcome the problem with a bit of basic maintanenece.
Download s1fwx HERE and using this guide HERE extract and repair your players firmware. Then using the MP3 Disk Tool which is part of the MP3 Utilities suite format the player. Finally reload your repaired firmware back to your player using the MP3 Upgrade Tool. Now try some amv files on your player. |
