AMV Video

I have the China MP4 player with the 1.5" screen. I have to use the 128 X 96 resolution size. I have been able to convert with AMV conversion tools version 4.00. However when I convert using the highest quality fps and highest quality image, the video is still very jerky. It is obvious that I am seeing the frames jump/skip.

Any way to smooth the video????

Mooner,

I've noticed that too on some of my conversions.
The best way to minimise on the 'jumpy' video is to use a program called VirtualDub (you can download it from this site too) to change the frame rate.

Most of the videos are either 25fps or 29.97fps. I think the AMV Convert Tool uses 12fps instead. If you convert the frame rate to 12fps using VirtualDub, you should be ok.

Try that and letme know how you get on.

Re: AMV Video

Thanks, I downloaded VirtualDub and it worked! Thanks for the tip. I had problem with the size of the video. I was only able to convert half the video and it took over 30 gigs of storage. It also took almost 10 hours to convert half of the movie.

Can you convert in less time and take up less storage space?

Mooner, I have made a settings profile (128x96-12fps) for you. With these settings a full lenght movie 1hr:50min took 25 minutes to process and the final size was 325MB. Processing time will depend on your PC specs.

You can download the profile HERE

To load it select File>Load processing settings....
You may have to adjust the crop setting I have it set for a wide screen movie.
