YouTube at the palm of your hand

Who doesn't like youtube? does I even have to put the url? www.youtube.com

Well, you can download youtube videos to your mp4 (.amv format)

how?

Step 1:

Go to you tube and select the video you want, then copy the url of that page (ie. http://youtube.com/watch?v=KjbMkMpq6...elated&search=) and paste it into this page:

http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php (if you have firefox you can download a pug in that generate the link automatic)

then you will have a download link for the .flv file

make sure of saving it as something.flv

Step 2:

Using free Riva FLV Encoder, http://www.rivavx.com/?encoder, transform the .flv file into an .mpg

- open riva flv encoder select the input .flv file, select the output folder, and rename the outpur file name to something.mpg

then press ->flv encode

Step 3:

Convert the .mpg to .amv or whatever format your mp4 player support...

I think there is plenty info on doing this step so I'll not specify how...

ok, use AMV Convert Tool from the downloads...

that's it...

I love my mp4!

Great tip! :)

You can also use this tool here too: Web Video Downloader - VDownloader.

It's downloadable from our site here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/web-video...-mb-df329.html.

There's an excellent plugin extension for Firefox that does the same thing. Install the extension, then surf to the youtube video page and right click on the downloader (link will appear in the bottom right of the browser after installation) to save the the video as a flv file to your hard drive.
Easiest way to download from youtube, Google video, Metacard, iFilm, Dailymotion, etc.

Firefox video download extension

Hi, thanks for your step by step guide.
However when I uploaded the amv file onto my player and watched it, it was not full size on the screen (black border around it). Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Thanks :D

I think that can be because of the settings on the .amv convertion, be sure to use the size that fit your screen...

I use SUPER to convert the flv to whichever format I want - usually avi or mpg and then convert using AMV Convert Tools. Its freeware and its actually pretty good.

You can get it here:

I use the Firefox extension "Fast Video Download" to get the .flv file. Then I encode it directly to AMV using the AMV utility.

HOW?

Install ffdshow and then you have to enable .flv1 in the ffdshow video decoder configuration utility. It's disabled by default.

This makes it directshow enabled, thus the AMV utility works. Enjoy!
