AMV 4.03 FPS

Hey, I have a 1.8 inch player(160x120) and it gets a format error on high fps. If I put AMV 4.03 on chip, I can lower the framerate and it plays fine, but it only goes to 128x128. Is ther any way I can do 160x120 at a lower framerate? Ive tried 3.57 and 4.0, so far 4.03 works best.
Thanks

Well, 3.57 worked for a while, then it started giving format errors. I tries reinstalling, next ill restart my comp and reinstall

Irrellevents,

Yes, formatting should resolve issues with format errors majority of the time.

Try that and let us know.

Hmm, It still has the problem. I put on 20 videos, and only half of them worked. I know that at least some of the videos that gave a format error have previously played.

Edit: Okay, I tested it three times, each time only the first ten videos will play. Maybe theres a ten video per folder issue, one more test tonight to find out. Anybody have problems with a limit to the number of videos?

What is the storage size of your player?
I have a feeling that it might be 'hacked' player. This is when a player has been 'hacked' to show more storage than it physically has inside the player.

If you do a 'low' format on your player using the "MP3 Player Disk Tool" as part of the MP3 Player Utilities, you should hopefully see if it's been hacked.

A lot of members have reported hacked players bring up "format errors" and after a certain number of files it will come up with errors.

Try this using
AMV Converter 3.57 with modified transformsetup.ini

[Setup]
Overwrite=TRUE
Insertwave=FALSE
Insertpic=TRUE
Transplay=TRUE
Trycode=TRUE
VFBS=MEDIUM
VWH=160*120

When you double click this file it will open in notepad, just modify it as it reads above.

Be sure to do this to the "transformsetup" file not the "amvtransform" file.
Then right click on the file after saving it and check the box marked "read only"

Then open the converter and convert your videos, do not worry about the settings it will be 160X120 at 12fps. To be sure play it back using the amv player from amvtools3.57 and right click on the video and then select property. It will show you the size and fps.

Re: AMV 4.03 FPS

Its a 2 GB. I don't think its hacked, because the videos will mess up even if I only have abou 50 MB on it. I've had about 900 MB of music and had it all work also( I guess it cold really be a 1GB)

Avionik99: Mine was like that, except it said "middle" instead of "medium". Don't think it should make a difference, but I'll try it out.

Thanks everybody.

Re: AMV 4.03 FPS

I just realized the problem isn't the videos. It does it on music sometimes too. :( I;; try formatting with the disk tool.
Edit: Its hacked. It's 400-sometgins MB's. If I try to do a format with the format tool though, it gives me a Disk type not supported message.

I still get a "not supporting this type disc" error. It won't let me format it.

Irrellevents,
Have you tried formating it with Windows?
If that does not work you could use this to do a low-level format. It works well but I found you have to run it twice. The firat time it does not seem to do much.

If that does not work you could try using testdisk to delete the partition and then create a new one.
