Converting .mpg files to .smv sigmatel motion video
I just bought a re-badged 2GB Audio/Video mp3 player. It plays songs no worries, but to play music videos you need to convert the files to .smv format (Sigmatel motion video). The unit comes with a disk with file conversion software on it, but everytime I try to convert a file with .mpg extension it comes with the message "No audio codec is available for this file. Please install a correct codec" I have installed a couple of codec files I downloaded, but still no luck. The files play on my PC ok. Any answers for me? Thanks.

mg1312, I do not know what codecs you have installed but if you have not used it I would recommened the K_Lite Mega Codec Pack which you can download here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download_...hp?d=2188&s=42 It covers almost every codec you could think of. If you are still having problems then you may need to convert the file to .AVI before converting to SMV |
Re: Converting .mpg files to .smv sigmatel motion video
That didn't work - I presume installing the codecs via the .exe file would automatically cause the computer to know where they are to access. Any other solutions/similar experiences anyone? I have put a call in to the retailer to look at, and am waiting a reply.
