[solved] help needed to play video files.

I have converted the video files using the amv converter that came with the player. Once i have pasted them or dropped and dragged them into the drive and turn the player on, it says there are no files to view. I am able to put photos and mp3s on but have spent hours trying to do this with no luck at all. I have looked at the settings on the player and it says version 00.00.0001. Please help if you can, this is for my niece for xmas

tadad1 18th Dec 2006 4:36 pm

psmith0103, Looking at your firmware version number I would guess your player is using a Sigmatel chipset but that is an odd version number.
If it is a Sigmatel player then you need to use an SMV video format converter. You can download one here:

tintin19, It is a nice looking player, but there are heaps of bizarre feature. Looks like a Chinese to English online translation.
Did it come with a sample video?
If so what format is the sample?
Have a look in the players settings menu and see if you can find the firmware version.

tintin19 18th Dec 2006 10:42 pm

yes it came with a sample video
but i deleted it T____T
i don't know why i deleted it grrrr
i don't know what's the format now
i'm soo pissed right now

tadad1 18th Dec 2006 10:46 pm

tintin19, Did you find the firmware version?
We can work out what it is there are only so many formats.

tintin19 18th Dec 2006 10:55 pm

the version is 00.01.0004

tintin19 18th Dec 2006 11:07 pm

is there a way that i can put videos?
i hope there is a way
thanx for your help

tadad1 18th Dec 2006 11:40 pm

tintin19, Well it is not an AMV player, it could be a Sigmatel in which case it will play SMV files, you can try this converter.
http://www.mympxplayer.org/smv-conve...-22-df116.html
Or it could be a Rockchip player (but they usually have an SD Card slot), and run .avi files you could this converter:

Re: help needed to play video files. PLEASE

I downloaded the smv converter, and the player now seems to recognise the files as they appear in the movies fiel, but when i try to play them it says file format error. Am at my wits end with this.

psmith0103 19th Dec 2006 1:30 am

I am using the avi output on the smartsoft video converter. Is that right?

tadad1 19th Dec 2006 2:29 am

psmith0103,I have never had a Sigmatel player so I have never used the SMV converter but a format error on an amv conversion can usually be fixed by lowering the frame rate.

What are you using smartsoft video converter for?

Re: help needed to play video files. PLEASE

tintin19, PMP transcoding tool is a video converter usually used by Sunplus chipsets. The rest is just babble about release notes. If you want to try a PMP Transcoder you can get one here:

tintin19 19th Dec 2006 4:57 pm

it's still not working
i'm soo sad ryt now and pissed Y_Y

tadad1 19th Dec 2006 5:42 pm

tintin19, I have no problem downloading it. The only thing I can think of is if you are using a download accelerator program you need to disable it because you can only use them on rapidshare if you have a paid account.

tintin19 19th Dec 2006 5:46 pm

i got it

tadad1 19th Dec 2006 8:31 pm

tintin19,
Could your player detect any of those formats?
Did any of them play at all even if just for a second?
Did you get any warning messages when you tried to play them?

tintin19 19th Dec 2006 8:47 pm

tadad1 19th Dec 2006 9:05 pm

tintin19, I suggest you email the seller and tell him you are having problems with video playback and accidently deleted the sample video, and ask could he send you a copy of the sample video.

^_^
ne ways
can i upload videos from youtube?
just wonderin if i can do that

tadad1 20th Dec 2006 2:59 pm

tintin19, Yep, VDownloader will download and convert YouTube and Google Video to .avi.

http://www.mympxplayer.org/web-video...-mb-df329.html

tintin19 20th Dec 2006 4:18 pm

how do i use it after i download a video
i converted already a video
how can i transfer it to my mp4 player?

tadad1 20th Dec 2006 4:47 pm

tintin19, once you have downloaded it you then need to pass it through the Rockchip AVConverter the same as with your other video conversions.
Then just copy the resulting .avi file to your player.

tintin19 20th Dec 2006 7:16 pm

ok
thanx alot ^_________^

tadad1 20th Dec 2006 7:42 pm

tintin19, If you open Vdownloader then add the web url of the video you want to download. Then select Options>Preferences from the VDownloader menu bar and set format, size and bitrate.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2...ettingsoy6.jpg

Then when you press the download button the save dialogue will open and you can select where you want to save the .avi and the name.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/1...dsaveaslg2.jpg

Once you have downloaded the file run AVConverter
1 select the file you want to convert in this case the .avi you just downloaded with vDownload.
2 The location where you want the converted file to be saved.
3 The name you want to give to the finished .avi

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2...nverterwe2.jpg

Press Save, Close and Convert now and then copy to your player.

tintin19 20th Dec 2006 8:04 pm

got
it
thanx^_______^
