I recentally bought a mp4 player with a 2inch screen... (http://www.uxcell.com/uxcell/retail/...v0blk2048mp036) It plays the videos sideways but I don't know what resolution to put it in....208X176? 208X160? 208X144? 208X120? Im not sure?!?!?

adamlg9291, If your player came with a sample video copy it to your PC and play it with the AMV Player. While it is running right click on the image and select properties and it will show you what size and frame rate the amv is encoded at.

You have a rockchip player. It plays avi's that have been converted to xvid 20fps with mp2 audio. At the bottom of the page you linked us to(uxcell) there is a download for the avi converter. It will convert automatically to the correct frame size which I think is 220x176 for a 2" player. I have a similar player and have used the converter which is easy to use and works well. You have a really sweet 2G player congrats!

avionik99:
hi there! i also have a rockchip-based mp4 player. it doesnt play .AMV files, only .AVI files encoded with xvid. I used the original AVConverter 1.0 that came with the player, as well as AVIConverter2.0 and 2.1 that came in this site. All programs were able to convert my videos and they all play on the player. I just noticed that if i convert .ASF or .WMV files, the sound is distorted on the player, whereas if i convert .MPG files, it plays perfectly on the player! any ideas?

i also have questions regarding ID3 tags. my player only recognized ID3v1, but it only displays the artist. ID3v2 doesnt work, it displays gibberish info. any ideas on how to make this work? i was able to make this work on a nano look-alike, and i was succesful with ID3v1, but with this rockchip-based mp4, i am stuck! hope someone can help me.

thanks in advance!

Ryan,

I would suggest that you convert these files to AVI using another converter first then use the AVIConverter.

Id tags I have no knowledge of whatsoever sorry'

The difference between v2.0 and v2.1 is Frame rate in v2.0 is 20fps and v2.1 is 24fps. The audio is mp2 for both but v2.1 is 128bit versus 96bit for the v2.0. Both use 220x176 resolution which is great for 2" players.
V1.0 is not needed as these 2 work really well.
