1.8" can only view avi files
 

I purchased an MP4 player like this one http://cgi.ebay.ca/1GB-2-0-LCD-MP3-M...QQcmdZViewItem and it seems to play only avi files(video mode)... well only the avi file that came with the player that is. amv files do not even show up in the playlist... there is a navigation mode where I can see them but it won'y let me play.

I tried converting many avi files but then just get a corrupted file error... has anyone else encountered this issue? any known fixes?

You have a 2" rockchip player. This is the info on the video you uploaded

6.6 mB, no subtitles , XviD MPEG4 Codec, 224x176 pixels,
00:00:01:26 sec., 20.00 (20.0000) frames per sec.,
MPEG, 128 kbit, 44100 Hz, 2 chan

It is mpeg-4 (Xvid) with mp2 audio. You need to use AVIConverter v2.0 to convert your videos. It is easy to use and works well. You can get it here.

The chinese language only version 2.1 you can get here

The difference is version 2.0 is 20fps@96bit mp2 audio while the 2.1version is 24fps@128bit mp2 audio. I have used both with my player and have had very good results converting avi's. But converting .mpg videos seem to have a audio sync problem
