IS there any program to convert avi. files?
 

I want to convert avi. files to .mpg or mpeg files, because my windows media player 10 doesn't play avi. Can anyone help me or know a program to convert avi files?

try TMPGEnc for converting.

but one suggestion i would give you is that instead of wasting your time by converting all your avi files to mpg just for watching them, why dont you try vlc player which plays avi files.

You are far better off using .AVI files as reconverting an .avi to MPG, you will loose quality.

If media player doesn't play it, it means you might have to install a codec pack.

The codec packs on our website also has "Media Player Classic", which is bundled with the necessary codecs. It's also not as 'bulky' as MP10.
