Converting videos to 128x96 amv

I got this player which plays 128x96 amv

What tools/programs should i use to convert my flv's and wmv to amv's so i can play it on my player?

tadad1 2nd Feb 2007 12:33 am

blzbub, MP3 Player utilities 3.68 may be your best option.

Re: Converting videos to 128x96 amv

im glad to have a fast reply

btw im using v4.03 and the minimal option is 160x120

ur saying v3.68 has a 128x96 option?

tadad1 2nd Feb 2007 1:33 am

blzbub, 4.03 and above were released when 2.0 inch screen players started appearing on the market and larger conversion sizes were added.
You can unlock the small screen settings if you want by going to the AMV Converter folder and opening the AmvTransform.ini in Notepad and changing CHIPTYPE=1 to CHIPTYPE=0

Re: Converting videos to 128x96 amv

so if i get to edit the ini file to what ur saying, then the v4.03 converter would have the 128x96 option?

Where do i find the codec for this?

I get an error status..

tadad1 2nd Feb 2007 6:59 am

blzbub, If you have not installed a codec pack try the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack here:

Re: Converting videos to 128x96 amv

It Worked Now...

But the audio output was only 22kbps...

Seems the audio pane is unselectable...

My player plays it with sound unhearable...

tadad1 2nd Feb 2007 9:16 pm

blzbub, Is it the same with all files you convert or just the one?
Can't change the audio bitrate but you could try pre-processing the video through VirtualDub and increasing the volume before converting to AMV.

Re: Converting videos to 128x96 amv

So ur saying the converter cant keep the original bitrate?

Yes, all the files have the same output which is 22kbps...12fps...and only 1 channel

The original file got 44kpbs...29fps and like 2 channels i think

Ill try the dub if it solves the problem...

tadad1 2nd Feb 2007 10:21 pm

blzbub, No the player most likely could not process the original bitrate. My question was is the volume problem consistant with all your conversions or only some.

Re: Converting videos to 128x96 amv

Changing the volume in the Dub wont work...

Yes all conversions have the same problem...

Maybe its the player cuz the amv output was audible, but my player plays it too soft a sound...

Any solution to this?

Like maybe the insert wav pane in the settings...

BTW, how do you compare v3.68 to v3.57 based on this thread?

tadad1 4th Feb 2007 10:25 pm

blzbub, Not much difference between 3.57 and 3.68 if you are converting at 128x96 but if you want 128x128 then you will need 3.68.

Try some of the samples in the download section and see if the volume problem exists on them as well, if so it may well be a player issue rather than a conversion issue.

Re: Converting videos to 128x96 amv

Seems like it...

My player seems to play amv's with low sound...

Eventhough it plays audio good and audible...

How do i solve this?

tadad1 5th Feb 2007 2:22 am

blzbub, Well if it is the player and you have the volume on full you may not be able to do much at all. If you are using the earphones that came with the player try a better quality pair you may notice a difference.
Otherwise your only option is try to increase the volume on the video file before converting to AMV.

Re: Converting videos to 128x96 amv

Like do it in Dub?

What filters do i use anyway?

tadad1 5th Feb 2007 3:16 am

blzbub, I have created a VirtualDub settings profile for you. Load your video into VDub then go File>Load Processor Settings and load the profile.
Then choose file save as AVI.
I have increased the volume 32%

Re: Converting videos to 128x96 amv

I got to load that setting...

But as I've saved AVI, an Dub error prompt appeared...

It goes...

error initializing audio stream compression:
the audio codec cant compress the source audio to the desired format

check that the sampling rate and the no. of channels in the source is compatible with the selected compressed audio format.

deepakrr 5th Feb 2007 5:19 am

try checking the full processing mode in Audio.
