Can't convert my .mov files to .amv files

Dear Friends
I have a 1 Gb IPOD nano copy I got from ebay from a CA based seller .
Here is a brief of the type I have .

This one came with MP3 player utilities 3.5 through 4.0 :

None of the ones above I installed can convert my .mov files to .amv files.
Some can play the files ( AMV convertor > Play button playe files ) , but when I press convert button , I immediately get an 'ërror'' status .
SO I somehow got hold of AMV version 4.09 Utilites and mananged to do make some AMV files. THESE will play on 4.09 and backwards ( AMV player -- > Open files -- > plays these files ) but when I transfer these .amv files into player . Its does not play .

BTW . I have gotten rid of the folder arrangement that came by default. DOes that really matter ?

Also I have some .wav audio's and these too convert to amv format.
In this case the AMV utils just freeze.
Need some guru here......
