AMV Volume issues
 

I downloaded Tadad1's video converter about a month ago. At that point, I spent the better part of a saturday overwriting my rather usless AVI files into AMV... It was a mistake to overwrite, as I found as soon as I got on the bus for my daily 45 minute ride to work..(chicago public transit. 7 miles = 45 minutes.)

So now I have AMV files, about 50 of them, that are sub par in terms of volume. Does anyone else have this problem, and more to the point, is there any solution that is cheap or free in terms of software? Am I screwed on all the files already converted, or is there an existing AMV editor that I can boost the sound with?

Any answers out there?

after you have set the audio to full processing mode as per the guide, go to audio, then to volume and tick the box. then increase the volume to about 140-200% :D

then convert that avi file to amv :)

another thing is to note the fps of your avi.

if it is 25fps, use high/low fps setting in amv converter.
if it is 29fps, use medium.

avoid using high image quality setting in amv converter to prevent format errors :)

Cool! that takes care of future AVI's... but does this mean that I can't alter files already converted to AMV? that's the kicker- i would have to find them all over again...

Your only real option at this point, is earphones. Specifically, noise cancelling earphones, or the ones with silicone (or foam) buds that go deep in the ear canal and effectively block out noise. Especially if they are sensitive; ie. 32ohms. They can be found for a few bucks.

either that or a mini amp.. like the ones used for personal guitar practice.. I already have a $200 set of studio headphones. end even at their peak, I it is weak. The volume isn't going from 10 to 6, it's going from 10 to 2.
