For people with Mac os x/Linux

Ok as i wanted to get Linux but never did, I found out about WINE and it will let you run Windows application on a mac/linux. So if the AMV converter does not run with Macs or linux this application will run. This is not an emulator!!!!
It just runs windows applications

AMV Convert Tool relies on Directshow. WINE does not have implementation of this. There are currently only AVI and WAV parsers for WINE.

Does anybody know another HowTo for Linux? Perhaps something with mplayer? Would be great!

Bugmenot-User,

Can you explain more about the "How to for Linux"? Do you mean, how to use the converting software? Or how to connect it to Linux or maybe something else?

I want to know if there is any Linux software, that can convert to AMV. Or if there is any other possibility to convert the video files in Linux.
It's not possible to install the Convert tool with Wine.

Same for me:
Without native (Mac OS X) XX to .AMV Software , this player is useless for me.

Who is the autor (company, email, web) of that AMV Conversiontool (Win) ?

amichalak,

The AMV Converter is created by the manufacturers of the Actions Chipsets.

For Mac and Linux, I would suggest you use a PC Emualator and install the MP3 Player Utilities onto that instead. That is the only way around it right now as there are Linux or Mac support versions available.

Thanks.

Maybe this manufacturers of the Actions Chipsets could give information about .AMV format, so some open Source programmers could port it to Linux/Mac.

.AMV container/codec should not be so difficult like Mpeg. Must be like Mjpeg.
