Help with Sumvision KPac
Live in the UK and have a Sumvision KPac 2GB MP4 player.
I have searched this forum for help on converting DVD to AVI suitable for playing on my KPac (2.2" screen). My problem is the audio & video of converted files plays on the PC fine but on the KPac it is out of sync. I have tried following various advice but so far nothing has worked. I must be doing something wrong. :( Is there anyone out there who has the same player and has solved this problem. I have access to the following software. DVD Shrink 3.2 DVDFab Platinum VDub AVConverter 1.0 (came with my player) Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum Xilisoft Converter 3.1 |

Re: Help with Sumvision KPac
just a little update on this problem: ive tried lots of different tools to convert the files including: xillisoft converter(file wouldnt play) a newer version of av convert (version 2) which i got from a link on this site. the newer version had very noticible improvement on video but still the same sync issues :( starts fine for 2 or 3 mins then goes right out of sync by 5-8 seconds :( it said when i downloaded version 2 it was a converter for rockchip so i assume thats the kind of chip in the k-pac? any ideas if this is so? how can i find out what chip is in the player? please help some one before the hammer comes out! lol

another update!: i installed the av converter 2.0 on my other hard drive (not c: with windows on) and what do you know its working! converted barnyard divx file and it plays in sync all the way through! result! dont know what was happening but my hunch is because i convert a lot of movie files to various formats and have quite a few encoders that there was some sort of conflict with all the different codecs i have on my machine. heres a link thats on this site to av conv. v 2.0 this is a link to the topic. scroll down until u see a user called rockchip hes posted a link to the site where u can d/l version 2 good luck ps. the video is better with version 2 as well. heres link to topic : AVI files on rockchip player 2.0" TFT just search for that on the site search which is on the home page

Help with Sumvision KPac
I have now managed to download AV Converter 2.0 :D
Still not sure of the correct conversion procedure. This is what I am doing now. I copy the DVD to my harddrive using Shrink 3.2 I convert the result to AVI using Xilisoft Then I convert this AVI file using AV Converter There are so many settings available on Xilisoft that may be where I am going wrong. Does anyone have a definitive list of settings that work? |

Re: Help with Sumvision KPac
I just got a sumvision mp4 player yesterday and i really want to see what the video playback is like on the player but i'm having problems.
With the player i got avi converter 2.1 which does not seem to work, when i try to convert a fie nothing seems to happen, and the progress does not change at all. I've tried every other converter that i can find but when using these the player either doesnt recognize them or says that the fie format is corrupt. Does anyone know a file converter program that will work? Or could anyone send me the avi converter? Any help woud be greatly appreciated Thanx in advance, Amy  |
Re: Help with Sumvision KPac
I have just bought a Sumvision KPAC 2Gb player. I bought it from SVP based on previous research and the user ratings on the site.
My problem is that although I can download sound and pictures, I cannot download video. I have used the bundled software and when I try to access the file on the Sumvision player I get the error - "File format error". Point of interest - the version of the software (av converter) that was provided was Verion 1.0 whereas the booklet refers to Version 2.0. I've tried to run the software on both an XP desktop machine as well as a Vista laptop. Finally, there are many times when the software shows "Progress 99%" but then will just sit and does not complete. Although it will come up with the messge "Conversion is complete" but still not work. I was sent a downloadable file by SVP to test the player. I'm not sure that I want to say this but the downloaded file (REC_000.avi) was playable. :( The software file that I have on the disk is - AVI Converter Setup, Size - 10,197Kb, Date Modified 14/04/2006 05:04. Is that the same as the one that you are running? Another interesting point is that in the 'Help' file (copy attached) the first screenshots represent the version of the software that I have. However, the last two screenshots refer to the application as 'Video Transcoder V1.0' and it has two additional 'buttons' in 'Update' and 'About' which mine does not have. Also, I'm using Normal for the Quality and Full Display for the Aspect Ratio? Should I be using other settings? Finally, I've also tried to create an .AVI file using DVD Ripper without success. I'm off to the States in a week's time and thought this would be a good way to pass the time! Any ideas appreciated. Cheers, Wobble |
For what it's worth, I have AVIConverter v4 (in English), I uploaded it yesterday to the "downloads" section, but it isn't there yet. Could need approval by the moderators(?).
If anybody wants it, message me and I'll send a link. Don't want to publish a link here because the file is on my own webspace, and I'm worried about bandwidth (eg. the number of downloads). Harry |

Re: Help with Sumvision KPac
I have a rockchip player from Ebuyer - the "Extra Value" one.
I've had no trouble converting and playing from different video types as long as I select the correct screen resolution to match the player, Mine was 220 Pixels X 176 Pixels. I also found that the converter supplied on the small cd works just fine. . Has anyone tried changing the resolution setting to match the KPac? |
