Hi,

Sorry to bother you but i need help. I have just purchased a 2Gb Soundwave MP4 player which says i can view AVI/WMA files. The problem is that the AVConverter software that is supposed to be packaged with the damn thing is not on the disc. I have tried various converters with no luck. Can you help?

Hi Skydoc. I don't know about your player, but on my player (AMV format), when I get the 'format error', it's usually related to the frame rate. For example, I can play a video 208x176 at 10 fps fine, but if I try to play the same res at 16 fps, I get the format error. You might want to see what fps your player supports. Good luck!

Thanks for that - i have taken your advice and tried a number of different frame rates but still no luck.

On the properties on "My Computer" it describes my player as a "Rockchip USB MP3 USB Device".

I've gone to the system settings on the device and it gives me the following:

Ver: 00.26.1845
Date: 2006-12-25

I read in another forum thread that sometimes if the device is formatted to FAT or FAT32 this can help - has anybody else heard of this?

Any help or advice would be so gratefully received as i'm getting a little fed up now. Everything else works fine on my player, just the video thats fubar. Thanks guys.

Did your player come with a sample video already on it? Alot of players do. If yours did, and if it plays ok, check it's properties (ie resolution & frame rate), and try to match them when doing your conversions.

Hi buddy,

No the damn thing didn't come with a sample video. Other than a nice presentation box and usb cable it came with a CD Rom which contains the pdf manual, a WIN98 driver and what i think is a firmware file (rtf ext).

It also came with a paper manual which i can only describe as utter rubbish!

In the manual it refers to prgrams for upgrading your firmare and for converting video with a program called AVConvert V1.0 - neither which are on the disk.

I hate to go on but the reason i brought it was to listen to music and watch the odd film. If i'd have just wanted a bog standard MP3 player i'd have brought one for £20 from a random electrical store.

Thanks for your time in helping buddy.

Hi, Me again,

I've done some searching and found that my player is actually called a "MULTIUNIT MPF334".

I found it on the following site:

http://www.multiunit-tech.com/produc...id=446#display

Just as the manual is, the site is rubbish with empty links all over!

can sombody please help me?
