1.8" 'FORMAT ERROR' =)

hi guys,

I have a problem with my mp4 player 8gb buy on ebay,
I can't convert my videos in .amv...
I have seen so much post, I've tested MP3 Player Utilities 3.57, 3.68, 4.00, 4.03,, 4.05, 4.07, ,4.09.... but i don't find!
I've modified the transfomsetup.ini in 3.57 and 4.00, always nothing...
Can you help me?

PS: Sorry i'm french and i don't speak very well english!

8GB players are very rare, so It might be a hacked player. Try to do the 'remove memory hack thing' here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

I know it's very rare :D
and I have 6gb of mp3 inside (I've formatted in FAT32) 8) , isn't a hacked player!
but only 5 hours with the battery :roll:

For playing videos, an idea?

Eikichi85

EDIT: After verification in MP3 Player Disk Tool:

Capacity: 4092 MB =>4gb
Total sector: 8380417 =>8gb
Disk total capacity: 1946 MB =>2gb

:shock:

8gb, 4gb or 2gb?

I think it's a 4x2gb or 2x2gb or 2x4gb

it's strange, I have up to 4gb in my player !

Eikichi85,

The "format error" message is generaly because of two reasons:

1. The memory is 'hacked'. This means it's configured changed to showe more memory than it has. So even though you can put like 6GB of data on it, it won't play it because the files are not 'phantom' copies and hasn't actually copied the files at all. It's sitting on a 'hacked' section of the memory so that can be why you get a "format error" because it actually can't read from that at all. Best to try to format your player to remove the hack.

2. The second reason is that the conversion setting is too HIGH. When you convert to an .AMV video, try changing it to "medium" quality setting instead. Or better, try downloading some of the samples fro our site and see if they play on your player. It's best to format and remove anything from your player first to rule out the possiblity of a memory hack that's causing this problem.

@admin: thanks, I have testing with medium quality before, but wasn't fps. Now I have formated with the tool of mp3 Player Utilities and videos runs but 2go :roll:
