Default Problems with MP3 Player Utilities 3.57, 3.68 & 4.0

Hi, I originally had a 1.5" no-name player, so I downloaded the MP3 Utilities 3.68 and it worked great for the first conversions I made a couple of weeks ago but it no longer lets me select the screen width and height so I deleted program.

My new ME2 player requires either MP3 utilities 3.57 or 4.0. My players screen is 1.8" and of course the disk that came with the player doesn't work.

So I dowloaded 3.57 from this site, I have used the instructions on how to convert to 160x120 using this program. Once converted the movies are all perfectly centered but all the writing comes out very itty-bitty and the picture looks like the colour is smudging plus it doesn't look like full screen filled. Maybe I am doing something wrong, please help!!

I then tried AMV converter 4.0. Movies that are under 90 minutes convert fine but they are not centered and the right hand side is cut off. The converter issues a "Disk Full" message at about 80%, if movie is longer than 90 minutes.

Can anyone help??

Also, is there a download of AMV Converter 4.0 that isn't a zip file and does anyone know how i can get rid of this file out of my PC??

Thanks!

Hi miffedmom,

Sorry I haven't a solution, but please don't open 3 topic!
Open only one topic with your problems in mp3 Players Utilities 3.57, 3.68, and 4.0!
Thanks.

hi miffedmom, I suggest you try the modified AMV Converter 4 here > http://www.mympxplayer.org/amv-conve...mod-df541.html
I use it for my movies in 160x120 and they always come out perfect.

I have no idea Eikichi85 was on about... maybe he misunderstood something

Hi _Odyssey, the site you suggested is the one I used to download. I must be doing something wrong. I'm not sure if I am using the zip file properly. I have never downloaded or tried to access one before.

As for the multiple topics opened on the MP3 utilities, I thought someone might see them easier that way and I might get some help quicker.

Who knew!!

miffedmom, oh.. well umm yeah, i see now. I didn't see the other posts.
In my experience on forums it's not been advisable to double or triple post a problem to get attention. It can create all confusion as to which post should be answered and how many time it needs to be when we all try to help so many people with thier problems.
Liken it to a crowded store where you're serving and helping customers and you're the only one on duty. Everyone is patiently waiting in line for service but 1 person constantly keeps pushing to the front shouting "help me help me help me".
I know what it's like, i used to work for Radio Shack (Tandy Aust) lol. Anyway the best way to do it is to post your question, and if it isn't answered within the time it drops off the "recent posts" list on the home page which can sometimes take a few hours, post in the same thread something like "Bump!" or a "Hello.. any help at all?" or something similar so it goes back to the top of the list. It's the first thing many of us first look at when we come here. It also helps to keep everything in 'order' if you know what i mean.

Now, that version of AMV Converter only needs to be unzipped to it's own folder. The program can be run from there. Once it's extracted go to the folder and click on "amvtransform.exe" and the program will start.

Sorry, new to the site! But I am having problems with all three of the MP3 Utilities.

After getting very frustrated with the 3.57 and 3.68, I downloaded version 4, which as you know is a zip file, which I really don't know how to open once I go into Winzip. I think that is where I really goofed up once I got it on my pc. What do I do once I get it into Winzip and if necessary how do you go about getting it out of the pc?

HELP!!

miffedmom,

Ok, i can assume you're using Windows XP? If you are, unzipping it doesn't really require Winzip.

Just browse to where you have the file "AMVConverter_4_mod.zip" stored on your computer and 'right click' on it with the mouse. In the pop up list you should see a few options.
One of those should be "Extract All..."
Choose that and a window should pop up with the words "Welcome to the Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard".
Click "Next" and it should present you with a destination directory that you can change, just something like "C:\AMVConverter_4_mod".
Click "Next" and it should extract the files to that folder.

Then just use My computer to browse to that folder and double click on "amvtransform.exe" to start the program. Alternatively, you can right click on amvtransform.exe and choose to send a shortcut to the desktop so it's easy to find and start again later.

Hope that works

Have you downloaded that file?

If you have and can't find it, just download it again and save it in "My Documents" then open that up and follow the directions i gave you. That should be the easiest way.
