What kind of AMV file?
 

Hello,
I recently got this type player from ebay:

Like other people, it had a sample .avi file that plays fine on the player, yet it is unable to play any other avi files. It opens mp3, .txt, and jpg files just fine, but it won't play any video files. Reading through here, it seems like it needs to have AMV files to play. So I tried using the AMV video convert tool, but the player isn't playing the AMV file either. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, I don't have any idea what firmware is. I don't see anything about firmware under the player settings. Sorry for being so stupid here... Thanks for any help, it is REALLY appreciated!

Your player is not an Action chipset player which uses the AMV video format. Looking at your player I would say it is a Rockchip based player which is AVI compatible but you must be converting your video files with incorrect settings if they are nort working on your player. There are quite a few threads regarding proper conversion of video for Rockchip players use the Site Search for "Rockchip Video Conversion" or "AVConverter"
