Help a newbie..I've about tried it all
 

Forum,
I hope someone can help me. I just bought a 2gb mp4 player off ebay, "ME4" I think is the brand. 2" screen, mini SD card slot.
Seems to play music ok, but not videos. Except for the .avi file that came with it. That plays fine. Software to convert to .amv was included, I've used it, and no luck getting anything to play. I also had some great assistance from the guy at heywatch.com, which is a file conversion service. (They rock!)
Anyway, I ended up sending him the sample file off the player, and then copied it's specifications exactly for another video. Still didn't play!
I pulled a sample video off this site, it won't play either.
Any ideas?

Why are you using an amv converter for an avi player??

Go to the downloads section and get the proper avi converter or use the one that came on the disk you recieved with your player.

Well Dave, that would be because the owners manual that came with it listed .amv as the type of file it would play, and because the converter that came with it changes files to .amv files.
I searched on the forum and people with the same type player solved their problems by using AVConvrter v1.0. I found the program finally, and it works like a charm. Amazing how simple the solution was when you know what to look for!
