Default [solved] Unable to play AMV files fully.

Hey Guys,

i bought a Snapbox Black 4GB USB 2.0 Portable Player that uses amv video format but i am unable to play the videos files fully. whenever i add an amv file to the player, i play about 3 or 4 seconds of the file before it goes back to the main menu. I can play music files and view images with ease.

i cant figure it out. i get the video file, convert to amv, use the software that came with the player to transfer the amv file to my player from the PC. I then attempt to play the file and it plays for 3 or 4 seconds then jumps back to the main menu.

can any one help me?

you can find information on the player here

iSONIC SnapBox Black 4 GB Portable Player X40 and here

Rodogg, it sounds to me that your converter might not be working correctly. There are some AMV converters in the download section. Try one of them and see if it helps.

Also what are you setting your resolution at? It should be no more than 128x128 for a 1.5 inch screen.

it is 1.5 inch screen that the program sets to 160x120. what would be the best converter to use?

That's part of the problem. The ideal resolution is 128x128. Can you set your converter to this setting? If not try this one:AMV Converter 4.00 I've used it before and it has 128x128 setting option.

Some of the newer versions, 4.03 and 4.05 probably have the 128 setting too. You can play around with them if you have time. This is the one I know has that setting.

Download Virtual Dub and try it. It is a useful tool. You can use filters to improve the video and sound. I run all my movies through it before I use the converter. It adds another step, but it is definitely worth it.
