rockchip can't play avi files!

Hiya!
I have a nearly identical "mp4" player as this
http://www.mympxplayer.org/album_sho...php?pic_id=387
except mine's unbranded.
I have a problem converting videos to avi because I don't know its resolution. I had a sample video, an Ice Age 2 clip but I've erased it already.
The screen's dimensions are: 1.5" by 1.25".
I tried converting to 128*96 and 128*128, etc but they still display file format error!
Below the screen, where the pic displays MF-M568, Digital MP4 Player 945 is written.
My menu looks like the pic's but mine are arranged in 3 rows and 3 columns. please help me, anyone

Hi,

I think your player resolution is either 220x176 or 224x176.

If you use AviConverter, you'll need to select the 220x176 option.

If you use something like the xilisoft product ( pricey but it works!), you'll have to call up 224x176.

I wrote about this here:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/viewtopic.php?p=34497#34497

Good luck!!

Death, I guess yours looks like the silver one in the bottom of this picture?

Wow, it actually worked! A bit, I guess.
My new problem is that now it only plays around 3 min of a 30 minute movie..
Any suggestions?

And yeah, it looks like that.

It will be nice to read your review :)
Here is my new Rockchip device.
It's the same of yours but with touch pad instead of push buttons ;)

Death, did you just use the xilisoft free trial? If so, that'll only encode 5 minutes, maximum. Their full version will do the whole movie, but it's pretty expensive ($40 or so).
I decided to purchase their DVDtoMP4 encoder last week, and it has been busy churning out my little movies all week!!
For 'free' you could try and use AviConverter, which should encode the whole movie. It doesn't give you all the nice features that you get with xilisoft's product, but it does work!! Remember to select 220x176 as the encoding option (although it will encode as 224x176, which is the native format of your 2" player).
Good luck!

DaremoS - Nice player!! :P

tastefuldeath 12th Aug 2007 2:25 pm

Oh, that's why it's only for 5 minutes!
I'd have to try the avi converter.
How about the Total Converter? Is it any good, iixorbiusii?
DaremoS, how much is that?
My "mp4" player is 1G with a miniSD slot and I bought it only for around $47.
I've bought it in a 'stinky' 'mall' where the Chinese sell different stuff. I almost expected it to breakdown after a month or so. Fortunately, it didn't. :)

hey guys i'm new here help me pls. i have also the same problem, ive got a rockchip klin 2.4"(320x240.correct me if im wrong guys) mp4 player i bought here in taiwan.i've already done all the possible solutions above mentioned but you can reply ASAP.maybe i just missed something that will help me.tnx in advance.

Hi Jaren, You have said you've tried all the solutions mentioned above, but please can you confirm if you have tried the following:
1) Using AviConverter (normally supplied with Rockchip players), did you select the 320x240 screen size? Also, I think you need to actually type ' .avi ' at the end of the 'output file' filename.
2) I personally use xilisoft's dvd2mp4 converter - I wrote about it here http://www.mympxplayer.org/previous-...r=asc&&start=0

You can download a demo from their site http://www.xilisoft.com/dvd-to-mp4-suite.html

It's expensive ($45), but it works - however, most users are succeeding with 'freeware' AviConverter, which you should be able to find in the Downloads section of this site.

What problems did you actually get??

Hope this helps
