Mac OS Video Converter to AMV
 

I have a Zoom MP4 Player and want to convert video files to AMV. Any information on this or the Zoom in general would be appreciated.

Hey, Tomac.

As the other resident mac-head on the board, I'm afraid I have bad news. When researching before I purchased a player, I was not able to find a single AMV converter for Mac. They do not exist. So unfortunately, the only option is to use a PC or PC emulator to create them.

In the end, I purchased a player built on a rock chip processor. It plays AVI (DIVX) files very well and there are several great apps to create them for OS X.

As the newly registered resident Mac programmer, if someone can hook me up with a solid reliable reference on the contents on an AMV file, I could write a convertor for Mac OS.

Sidenote: I have been considering buying the "Shift 3" media player which has recently appeared in Rite Aid stores. Has anyone heard anything about this player yet?

It suggests you use WINE which will let you run Windows applications on a Mac.
