Default Problems with source target in AVI Converter for Rockchip

Im new to this mp4 lark.

Ive got a rockchip player, I have downloaded the Avi converter (version 4). I cant seem to add a source target. All I want to do is copy one of my dvds to the player.
It brings up the source target, ie. D drive, but when i press open, in the box nothing happens. I can get it to accept the target path ( my player).
Im not the best on a PC so any relies would be very helpful.
Do I have to save the DVD to another location. It is driving me insane!!

It's not that simple.
Dvd's are nearly always copy protected.

You need an unprotected copy of the Dvd on your hard drive and convert the individual .vob file from that.

I'd also recommend not copying direct to the player, but to a folder on your hard drive, say called something like "MPxVideos" so you can test them on your computer before copying to your player.

It's also most important to select the correct screen size in aviconverter for you player otherwise the videos cant play.
Popular screen sizes are 220x176 (2") and 320x240 (2.2")

Thanks for the reply,
Ive copied a dvd to hard drive, and put it in my documents in "my video"
How do I now convert this to a .vob file, so that my Aviconverter will be able to target it as a source.
I know the screen size is a 220x176, so this bit should be no problem hopefully ( once I get to it!!!).
Thaks for the help so far.
Alot of my dvds are from my dvd recorder, so are not protected. So hopefully that shouldnt cause too much hassle.
