It is the player's fault, probably is CCC(cheep Chinese crap) class.
Try to decrease the Video BitRate to 250 and keep the same fps as the original. If you still experience desyncs then forget about it, buy another device or get use to stopping the video from time to time to regain the sync.
Another advice is to split the movie in 20-30 minutes episodes(yes, I know, you have to work extra to enjoy your device...) Fast Avi MPEG Splitter does a fairly decent job in this respect, cuts without compression but may occasionally add some desync...
