VDub can be set to output XVID SP .avi files but with ViDrop available for free why bother?...

Arkadaş, please leave them as they are, do NOT join them. Separate and smaller files are better managed by any personal media player, don't bother.
If you take a look at the posts from this forum you will notice that splitting the final video files was something requested repeatedly and lokster added that in ver. 0.57.3.

Best regards.

Re: viDrop - free open-source converter for RockChip players

Does anybody have an experience, what are the best settings of the video conversion for RK 2706, 480x272?

I've tried a few, but still get the loss of Audio-Video synchronization from time to time. Probably the quality is to be lowered compared with RK2706, 400x240.

Thanks

Edit: It came back: viDrop opens and immediately closes the console window, when I try to convert videos to the resolution 480x272 in the "Add borders" mode. I don't know what to do. It was already once, then it was corrected itself, now once more ...

Hi!
I have a rk2608a palyer (magnex dts2600) and i use with joyfull vidrop.
But becouse my player when i turn off and on it, it restars play the film from the beginning I always split video every 10min with the vidrop function.
It's possible to make this process automatic?
for example set the split interval to 10 minutes and vidrop computes start and end time.
...

Thanks a lot, the best converter gui!!!!!!!

Apologize me!!!I download last vidrop version and there is this option. sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I try to convert a video with rockchip 320x240 profile and 5minutes split time.
But after 3part I have this error:

AppName: mencoder.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: mencoder.exe

How can I add info to resolve my problem?

When I have the error in the dos windows appear

If i understand you want to split movie on 10 min parts.viDROP has that option in main settings on SPLIT ON EVERY tab and you enter time in minutes.I have 0.57.4 version so maybe it is that the problem.I dont know if older versions have that option.

Hope i help

Make the viDrop better

Do you want to customize your viDrop?
Go to the home website of MPlayer/MEncoder:
MPlayer on win32
and download YOUR version for your CPU,
then replace the viDrop's files
with those you have downloaded.

Heaven 13th Oct 2009 7:51 am

If you delete everything from extra settings you`ll remain with the subtitles on the movie layer and not on the black bars below.
I uploaded earlier a version that worked but it was deleted.

Can someone help me?I have to do a avi "scan" with some program for video "Info"?

loanstar744 29th Dec 2009 5:19 am

Okay I fixed the format error but when I transfered it and watched on my MP4 player there was no sound to the video, but my PC plays the video just fine with sound and all. and yes the settings were 320x240,AVI,DVIX CODEC,SOUND CODEC MP2. Any help would be very much appreciated.

EDIT: Nevermind I installed the new version and selected "ROCKCHIP 320x240" In the profile menu.

I have a "small" problem with subtitle ( there are two of them ) when using vidrop to convert video files.....

http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/8818/problemht.png

I'm using this in extra mencoder parameters

-vf-add scale=400:200 -vf-add expand=400:240:-1:-1:1 and is it possible to leave parameters ???

quebec 26th Jan 2010 9:48 am

Good evening I have a problem with vidrop 0.57.4:
convert an file.avi to view it on my mp4 player with Rockchip 2608C.
the file to your MP3 player only sees that there is no synchronization between audio and video. What should I do? thanks

For video info(codecs, length, Qf related ONLY) you may use GSpot
For video problems(.avi only a.f.a.i.k.) look for avimedic.exe, at very least you can run a quick video analysis that will show if there are any faults in it

Best regards.

Could you tell us what you did the solve the problem? Are you able to create a new forum post about it? It would help a lot for other members who may be having the same problem as you or for later reference....

When i had that problem my settings were

Keep aspect (in resize method)

and

-vf-add scale=400:200 -vf-add expand=400:240:-1:-1:1 in extra mencoder parameter, the point is that when you type anything in extra mencoder parameters you will get 2 subtitles instead of 1, so I erased all the parameters and that solved the problem.

I wanted to ask is it possible to add some FourCC code when using Xvid codec ...

Like MPEG4 FourCC code and to leave Xvid as codec????

Sounds good, isn't it :)

So... I will stick with versions 0.5** until this version is ready.

Hello, Lokster!
What's the estimate release date for the new viDrop v0.60 (which would be cross-platform) ?

Yesterday my friend has bought a Rockchip player and wants to convert some videos,

will definitely decrease the productivity. :(

Maybe a bad codec, but that's highly uncommon, have you tried restarting your PC?
I know it's not a free space issue.

Hi to all.
I started using vidrop in 2008 and sometimes, when i use automatic video cut (5 minutes,6minutes etc...) sometimes a couple of second are lost form 2 pieces of video splitted...
It's possibile to insert a "delta overlap time" when using Split function? so when vidrop calculates the start time it subtracts some seconds to overlap 2 pieces of video?

I have four Rockchip-based UltraProjectors (UltraProjector.com - Weather-tight, Stand-Alone Video Projector - Home), and I am trying to find a way to convert video for these things without using the provided AVI Converter program they have as a download:

UltraProjector.com - Weather-tight, Stand-Alone Video Projector - Downloads

I have seen that ViDrop can create video files for Rockchip devices, and that it is just a front end for mencoder (which is available for Linux, Mac, etc.). I would like to know if anyone has mencoder settings for doing a 320x240 compatible video file for Rockchip.

Ideally, I want to get this stuff going on Mac and Linux so it can be done on platforms other than just Windows/AVI Converter.

Anyone have any pointers? I played with this extensively last year and never could get it working.

Wow, I didn't know that Rockchip made UltraProjectors!
So does viDrop work for you?

If I recall, when I was evaluating one of the UltraProjector prototypes last year, somewhere something identified itself as "Rockchip MP3" in USB (and I think the production ones still do). I bet I could post a screen shot of the "bad format file" screen and someone here could recognize it to confirm.

I have never seen ViDrop, but I know of it from Google searches that led me to this forum. I will try it out, but the ultimate goal is cross platform video conversion for the UltraProjector (Mac, Windows, Linux at least).

I will check out ViDrop and see if it even makes compatible files. My experimentation last year showed that the encoder I was using was missing some -xvidcod or something option (so it was not compiled with that codec) and that was as far as I got before running out of time.

I will be documenting my experiments here:

UltraProjector and Mac

Thank you for the reply.

I wanted to thank you for providing this. I have been revisiting the UltraProjectors this year (as I do every Halloween season) and I was able to finally produce a working video file from the Mac, using mencoder.

Thank you!
