well, like all the other topics, these mp4's come together with an installation cd. After installation, i tried converting a simpsons episode file.....well into avi...it stopped and stops responding!!!!!

My operating os is Windows ME...

The release of Windows ME was a very quiet one. Not long after that, Windows 2000 came out. This tells me that Windows ME was like a 'beta' to Windows 2000.

I know that the other video converters have had problems on Windows ME in the past.

My first bet is, if you can get a hold of a Windows XP computer, try installling the AVI Converter and try converting it on that. See if it's the same problem.

It could also be a CODECS problem too.

ME = Multiple Errors
This was more of a marketing gag than really an operating system. Don't use it. Ever.
Also there is absolutely no connection between ME and W2K :

Win3.11 ---> Win95 ---> Win98 --> Win98se --> WinME
WinNT ---> Win2000 (---> WinServer2003)

WinME + Win2000 --> WinXP --> Vista
