Default Many problems with new player....

Hi everyone.

I bought a new mp4 player from ebay, and, you guessed it, from China.

I've had no end of the problems in getting it to work. First, I transfer files and it seems to only allow 156 songs. So I open up the folder, and I find one particular song has been cloned over about 500 times, filling a lot of the disk space.

I reformatted, and now with some files I'm getting "Format Error".

Worse still, is I'm told it can play mpg and avi files. So I transfer a few across. Turns out that it can't, and I'm after a format called mpx.

I look around the CD I'm given, and all there is is an amv converter, which is of no use at all. The manual, though badly written, says I need MPX MAKE and PIC MAKE to get the damn thing to work. Eventually, I find both. But they say I need a serial.

I'm at my wits end. I contacted the seller to no avail. If anyone could provide a mpx converter, or a serial to mpx make (which I SHOULD have got on my CD) I'd be most grateful. As it stands, the mp4 player is just a shiny little pointless black box.

Marix , i'll suggest a format using MP3 Utilities Disk Tools, the guide is here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html
It seems that your player has hacked memory, causing the "Format Error" and file duplication. After formatting, your player would be returned to its original memory capacity, and those problems should not happen again.

You can download any version of MP3 Utilities in the downloads section here http://www.mympxplayer.org/mp3-playe...ties-dc44.html
It would contain the required Disk Tools needed to format your player.

For video, your player reads .AMV video format. You'll need to convert using MP3 Utilities again. What is your screen size?

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I went through the tutorials you forwarded, and it turns out my 8gig player is a 900MB player, so no wonder it wasn't working as it should.

The AMV videos work, now, as the capacity and the videos are smaller.

Needless to say, I have filed for a refund and I'm not happy.
