Higher Quality AMV
 

Is here any possible way of making AMV's higher quality? Less speckle on the video files? I'm currently using the modified AMV converter which is great, but annoying when watching videos with subs and you can't read the text.

This is exactly why so many of us have switched to the superior quality of an AVI player. The expense between the two is now next to nothing. The video converters programs work extremely well especially the ViDrop program. The memory of the units are getting higher so the movie size is not a real issue any longer. The 2.4-2.8 inch QVGA type screens are awesome. The processors in the AVI players are faster and can put out better video and colors. The AMV players in my opinion cannot compete. But they do fullfill a need in the ipod arena. In answer to your question I do not believe amv players quality can get much better than you have now. Perhaps someone else here has a program that works better for your specific player but the sample video that comes with your unit will usually be the best it gets.

Try downloading Virtual Dub and follow the instructions posted here Using Virtual Dub to improve your AMV. There are some settings you can use to improve AMVs. It won't make them the quality of AVIs, but it will be a definite improvement.
